These Terms of Service are a legal agreement between you and Clear House LLC governing your use of the Clear House websites, mobile applications and related services.
1. What Clear House is — Clear House is an online marketplace that helps homeowners describe home-improvement projects, visualize ideas, and connect with independent third-party contractors and tradespeople (Pros) who may quote on and perform the work. Clear House is a venue and technology provider only; it does not perform, supervise, direct, or guarantee any work.
2. Eligibility — You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. The customer app does not require a password-protected account; instead it associates your projects with your device or browser.
3. How the marketplace works — You can submit a project, optionally upload photos, and request quotes from Pros. Any estimate, timeline, or AI visualization shown is illustrative only, not a commitment about cost or outcome.
4. Quotes, payments and fees — Payments are processed by Stripe through Stripe Connect. Clear House charges a platform service fee deducted from the amount paid to the Pro. Refunds and cancellations are handled through Stripe.
5. Relationship with Pros — Pros are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Clear House. You are responsible for evaluating a Pro before hiring.
6. Your responsibilities — Provide accurate information, use the service lawfully, and keep payment for introduced projects on the platform.
7. Disclaimers — The service is provided as-is without warranties of any kind.
9. Limitation of liability — Clear House LLC's total liability for any claim will not exceed the greater of service fees collected or US $100.
11. Governing law — These Terms are governed by the laws of South Carolina.
